Just something to get used to.
I agree. They are not as sensitive as my 2009 A4 brakes but very similar in feel to my wife's 2002 allroad. I'm already used to them. Not a big deal for me.

Sorry Audi... but the C7 Brakes = Major fail.

Every single Acura I've owned was 10x better in brake feel, fade and resistance.... AND What is the deal with the Brake Dust?? Jeezz... my wheels are filthy once I get home from the car wash. Im almost scared to brake when i know my car is clean.

I would go for the Brembos or Stasis, but not for $4k.... Hopefully a reputable company will come out with low dust , higher friction pads for the C7

Default Brakes do feel subpar

I also have a new A6 (Premium Plus, 19" Sport, etc) and I am disappointed with the brakes. This is my 7th Audi and it has the worst feel from the factory... soft, then grabby.

Compared to our 2013 S5, they are rather sad.

Here is what I am going to try. The folks at CarboTech in North Carolina are brake wizards. They will build a set of pads to your liking. I have used them for my two Saab Aero's, a 2008 R32 and a TT. The feel and dust have dramatically improved.

A big brake kit is great, but this fix will only set you back about $200.

Best wishes

Eric

I don't mind the feel.... used to it now. You are right! The brake dust on this car is crazy! Or is this just like any other Audi's?

Brake dust is crazy on all new cars now.

The worst I have ever seen is the Lexus GS 350 - F Sport my father just bought. 1 day and the wheels go from metallic silver to completely black. The stopping power is quite good however.

The three Audi's I have had in the last 5 years have all exhibited similar amounts of brake dust. No worse than Infiniti, Lexus or MB. It is just the new style of brake and it absolutely destroys the rotors as well.

Among all the cars I have owned in the last 25 yrs, (Accord, Maxima, TL type S, Lexus GS, Lexus RX), the brake dust on this car is by far the worst for me. I just thought maybe this is the german thing!

It's definitely an Audi thing. I had a '98 A4 and it had the exact same problem. There are a number of brake pads out there that are advertised as 'low dust' and that do make a difference. Just make sure you buy road brake pads; some of these are higher temperature, and I made the mistake of buying those once. THe car would stop fine after I warmed it up, but the first three or four stops in the morning were scary long.

My last two cars both had excellent brakes (in terms of both braking distance and resistance to fade) that barely dirtied the wheels between bimonthly car washes. Guess it's another audi thing, like not having a dedicated button to end a phone call...

I wonder if the 6 piston brembo's from the Touraregs, Q7's, and Cayennes can be retrofitted onto our cars. I know some people have easily done them on b6/b7 a4's for well below $1k including new rotors and pads.
