Default Parking Lights

There is an option for turning on your headlights once you lock or unlock the car.
It was working fine but now I notice that it doesn't function when I unlock the car. No lights.
I don't know if this is the cause, but I just installed a dashcam that runs once the car is parked. (Blackvue with Magic Pro set to 12v).
Is this causing the car to save power and preventing the lights to turn on?
Any other electrical issue that I should monitor?

What time of the day did you try this? Your lights might be set to come on later at a darker time of the day. Try again at night, or change the setting for the lights to come on sooner!

Nothing to do with this setting Jat.

OP's issue is when his car is parked and locked.
I believe he might have left his light switch in OFF position, when installing his dash-cam. That light switch needs to be in AUTO position for that feature to work.

Hope this helps.

I validated that the light switch was on the auto marking. It always was on that mark. The lights still will not come on as I was in a dark garage.

IIRC you need to go into "car settings" on the MMI and in there you will find the screen where you can control the lighting options.

The setting is correct, always was when it worked. Now it's not
Working after the car sits for an extended amount of time. If the cars sits for an hour and I unlock it, the lights come on as expected. For the past two days after the car sits overnight these lights don't come on. After sitting in my work's dark garage for the day, the lights don't work again.
The dashcam must be draining the battery to a point that the car electronics makes the choice to keep the lights off so that the car may start.

No lights this morning but directionals did blinked twice as if to describe a condition.
