price quote for 2013 A6
Like many of you, I've been reading posts in this forum while deciding on a 535xi or an A6. Both are really nice cars and I don't think one can go wrong with either one. So, for me, it all comes down to the price.
I've sent out emails to local dealerships here in Seattle. While one told me that they don't have the 2013 pricing yet so they can't properly give me a quote at this time, but will do so once they have them. That's fair. I don't mind that at all.
I've test drive the car at Barrier Audi here in Bellevue. The sales has been sending me email with the title "A promise to do more from Barrier Motors". I too asked them to give me a price quote on the spec I want. And this is what I received today...
------------------------------------------
The 2013 A6 3.0, the base price is $50,400.00
The destination charge is 895.00
Prestige Package 6,550.00
Moonlight blue metallic
Metallic Paint 475.00
Black leather
No Charge
Fine grain ash natural brown
No Charge
Cold weather package
450.00
Audi side assist
500.00
Let me know how you would like to proceed.
--------------------------------------------------
Really?? this is how they give price quote now?? So I replied to his email with "So you are saying that you will sell the car to me at MSRP? Thank you for your help"
I noticed there are many from the seattle area. If you have a good experience with an audi sale in any dealership, please PM me. Thanks!

Keep digging. At least Barrier Audi has a 2013 price list.

What would you expect? MSRP is exactly where the overwhelming majority of dealers will start. You, as the buyer, initiate the "price dance," not the dealer. Exceptions to this are driven by a lot of factors, market, time of year, inventory, etc. But expecting a dealer to offer a discount on a model year that haven't even been released yet isn't realistic based on my experience.

Appreciate your input. A great question! I would expect somewhere between 1000 to 1500 above the invoice price. I do not expect to buy the car at invoice or below invoice as they are in the business to make money too. If they come back with the price at 1000 above invoice, I would've be in the dealership to sign the paperwork. My time is money too and it should be fair for everyone but I do not believe to buy that car at msrp at this point.

Keep looking. This is not how I would expect the internet dept. of a dealer to respond at all. I've purchased my last 3 vehicles through dealer's internet departments and all 3 that received my business responded with their best price on the initial inquiry. I currently have a price of invoice +$1000 from the local Audi dealer, invoice +$500 from the dealer across town and invoice +$750 on a 535i from the local dealer.
