Default Rear brake rotor

Brake pad light is on. Dealer said I need to replace both rear pads and rotors. My car has 27,300 miles. My previous cars didn't need to replace rotors that soon but want to check the forum what is your experience, or stealer simply tries to win more business.

Get a second opinion and/or measure the rotor thickness.

I can usually get two sets of pads out of a set of rotors. Get a second opinion, hopefully from a local Audi guy you can trust instead of the dealer network.

The minimum thickness is sometimes engraved on the other edge of some rotors that I have replaced.

IDK what the Audi calls for. Usually it's 2-4mm less than the original thickness.

Here is the only recent thread about replacing rear brake pads. He might know.

I think you guys are referring to the brake pad thickness. Rotors should be around 25-30mm thick.
