Camera in front of the mirror is for HBA. Triangular camera above mirror is for lane assist and ACC. ACC radars are in the side lower grilles. Night vision camera is in the front rings. Side assist is in the rear bumper sides. No cameras are used for the HUD
I am so glad I found this thread, I'll have to just move my dash cam to get rid of my constant blue mirrors. I thought the camera on the mirror was the dimming sensor
I guess, but now it is becoming even more confusing:
1. Sensor on and behind the rearview mirror is used to measure the lights for the instrument cluster and ambient light. (marked in blue)
2. Sensor between the rearview mirror and windshield measures the light for the High Beam Assist and also humidity.
3. "Triangle" sensor on the top is used to for the Audi Lane Assist.
4. Sensor between the ALA and HBA, also measures light (for daylight running lights?) but it also serves as the rain sensor. (marked in yellow)
5. The front of my dashboard has something that looks like the old dome sensor for daylight running lights, which contradicts with #4.
So really a lot of light sensors

#1 in conjunction with the sensor on the front near the button is used for the anti dazzle rear view mirrors, there is a small sensor that is difficult to see in the cluster that adjust the brightness for the ambient lighting, MMI, and cluster.
#4 correct
#5 is the sun sensor for the climate control system
