Default S tronic, DSG, DL501, 0b5 gearbox oil change

since I can’t find any discuson anywhere and I own a a6 c7 3.0 tdi quatro stronic, i tought i might open a new thread about it. So there is loads of info about the gearbox and how to do a oil change on it on google, but one thing gives me a bit of head ake, why do all seller give 7l of oil when the gearbox takes only 4.35l but the clutch on the other hand takes 7, but clutch oil they say its for life and you don’t have to change it!

my experience is: if anythng/any company clains LIFETIME or FOR LIFE on any oil it means: it is for the LIFE of the tranmissions which is 120K miles/200K kilomteres IF YOU DO NOT CHANGE it.

I think it's the manual part of the gearbox that is claimed to be filled for life, but you can change it anyway - 2 technical oil plugs there in usual locations.
The wet clutch section requires periodic oil and filter changes, there is a procedure to follow on how to change it correctly.
Hope it helps.
