Yes you can upgrade to the factory Bose system but its not cheap, even WAY more expensive to retro a B&O system.

I would suggest talking to a sound shop in your area about an aftermarket upgrade system, probably easier and better for the same price as a factory Bose retrofit.

I have a 2014 a6 with bose and it sucks. B&o not much better and very expensive. Lots of owners are deleting their bose and b&o for aftermarket. This is specialized for audi mercedes and bmw as they use MOST optical fibre for audio system. Non of my local car audi shops had a clue of what to do. yeah im looking into the same thing...I have a 2016 A6 premium plus S-Line 3.0t and it has the non-bose, non- B&O system and I have a blown door speaker, its $100 just for the one factory speaker, i am doing heavy research over the next week to find a solution

Ive read that these door speakers are prone to the voice coil cap (that small dome in the middle of speaker cone) getting loose and buzzing when on. Just need to reglue it back in place. One of my speakers is buzzing too but im replacing everything in spring.

Did you ever figure this out and what you end up doing? I'm thinking of upgrading my sounds system from the base standard to the BOSE which I can purchase the system from another Audi owner.

Dont bother upgrading from base system to bose. the base system in my sq5 is far superior to the bose in my c7 a6. you are much beter to put that money into aftermarket audio equipment. go to diymobileaudio.com and look up some of the audi builds. you will end up with a much better system for less money.
