Here is how I feel about the noise and comfort level
18 without sport = lexus gs or mb e-class
19 with sport = bmw 5 series on run flat
20 with sport = bmw 3 series on run flat
18 with sport = smooth and quiet and i have no regret to get this
However, I might get a set of 19" with all season to see how smooth it is just because 19" looks very good on A6.

I will throw my setup in here, too, for your comparison.
I have a non-sport Prestige that came with all season 18s. I recently changed to the OEM 20s from the sport package. I can say the noise is noticeably louder with the 20s, but the ride feels basically the same. When the stock tires wear out, I hope to find some quieter summer tires...
I also plan to change to the S-line springs (30mm drop) that are available in the UK. My dealer said it will be Ł235.38 including postage.

Just to confuse things further, I'll throw in my two pesos worth:
I've lived with a loaner C7 with standard suspension for about a week when my C6 was in the shop, and now own a C7 with 19" sports suspension. Mind you, there was a month or so gap between driving the two C7s, but I don't recall the comfort level being all that different. Road noise is upped a little with the 19" wheels, but the C7 overall is a very quiet and comfortable car. IME/IMO, the 19" sport setup is one of the best compromises between ride quality and performance in this segment.
I had the 19" sports suspension in my C6 and it was brutal over less than perfect roads. I've also owned a 986 with sports suspension and there's no comparison with the C7's. This is after all a sporty luxury car.
As a Porsche owner, I assume you'd want the sportiest setup possible.
