Sunshades
I got the 2012 A6 when it 1st came out. I do not remember an option for sunshades.
Looking at the options for 2013, I see it has:
"Power rear window sunshade with manual rear door shades"
I would REALLY like this, as I have young kids. I hate stick on sun shades, which I currently have to use.
Anybody know if this is a possible add-on for an A6?

Anything is possible. It will cost you but it is possible.
On the rear doors, you would need new door panels and trim. On the rear you will need the rear deck and the rails that go up the sides of the rear window.
If you are handy and can find a wreaked donor car, the cost would be lower.

Or you could straight order the sunshade parts from Audi and do it yourself install. This is what I'm thinking of doing for my rear doors.

Personally I think the easiest option is to tint the windows. Obviously check your local state laws about the percentages you can go, but I find that does the trick. Buying aftermarket parts could be more troublesome if you want to drive with the windows down and the screens up. How well will the pieces stay in? I know in the summer I plan on retracting my screens.
By the way retro fitting the factory screens will be expensive even as a DIY job I think. I have the screens and I needed some work done on my rear deck. Audi instructed my dealership how to fix it. They ended up breaking the rear power shade which needed to be replaced. I was told it easily cost $1k just to fix the rear shade from the damage.

Only issue when driving with the windows down, is that the rear shade 'shimmers' because of the wind and you get a weird feeling when looking at the rear view mirror (it's probably just me, though)...
Looks great from the outside too.
