When the car is locked and even if it isnt, there is a lag. I am in the habit of quickly pressing the button, if you press and hold it for 1/4-1/2 second it will open every single time.

It was quite annoying for me to sometimes it worked sometimes it didnt, there is a random lag i think. Since i learnt to press the button for longer i have not had an issue.

The Valet button in the glove box was on...that did the trick. trunk release operates as normal on all devices. Thanks

I'm finding in both my 2012 A6 Prestige and 2017 Q5 S-line that when I have the key in the same pocket as my cell phone (Samsung S7) the cell phone blocks whatever signal the key sends out. Sometimes I cannot even start either car. Both keys have fresh batteries.
Keeping the key away from and not in very close proximity to the cell phone is the solution for me.

Audi S4 2015, flooded in underground parking up to the engine/battery. Trying to get into the trunk to enter the car & remove the stuff in the trunk. won't open

I think if you use the key and turn it past the unlock position it will mechanically release the latch. Presume yu don't have folding rear seats
