For $100 might as well just buy your own VCDS cable. It would be good for many Audis in the future and earlier ones as well. Plus, while it's not common, mods can be erased to default factory settings when certain MMI modules are updated by the dealer. Having your own cable allows then to be easily redone. Finally, you could run scans for trouble codes anytime you wished.
