Literally the first "mod" I did to my A6 was have the dealer take off the front license plate before I took the keys LOL. Ruins the aesthetic and look of the front grill. Technically "required" in Texas but I've taken off the front plate on my past 2 cars and only gotten 2 warnings over the past 6 years.

Default 2021 Front License Plate Bolts

I have a 2021 and it has these ugly front plate bolts. Here in Michigan we don't use a front plate and these just ruin the look. The dealer told me to get them off they need to remove the entire front bumper assembly which will require recalibration of all the sensors to get it back on. The sales guys said another guy paid $500 to do this. I am not wasting $500 to get this off but before I pull out the Dremel and get to work hacking at them does anyone have any better ideas? The dealer can't even find this part in their system to tell me how it attaches.

Is this the style blots that just snap off?

I agree, very ugly. I went ahead and found some black bolts in my garage that fit and screwed them on. Doesn't look that bad now...I have a few extra if you would like them.

Bumper Plugs makes a custom to fit product. You may have to shorten it or cut off the stem and glue them on but it’s a color matched finished product @ $29.95 per pair.

correct... however, I ordered German front plate with the same info as the back plate for my 2019 A6... I added the ADA sticker which is correct for back plate.

I've purchased this but not yet installed. It's an all metal construction so sturdy for supporting the plate and no damage to your bumper. Just attach the bracket using the two screw holes on the existing Audi mount. Then your license plate to using using all 4 holes. This will also shift the installed plate down about an inch. This will prevent any issues with blocking the front camera.

Currently I use one of their license plate frames (this is the manufacture of the Audi branded ones / sold in Audi dealerships) on my front. It's attached to the car with the bottom screws and I rigged something up for the top screw positions where the screws go through into rubber grommets to space the plate off the car and also protect the bumper. However, my existing solution partially blocks the front camera for the 360 degree view is a little obstructed. That is why I looked into the mount I'm recommending above.

How are the plate brackets removed? Is it pushing inward or outward? Was applying some pressure in but seemed like it didn't want to budge.

In Europe, Audi dealers stick the front plate to the bumper, without the frame, as to not interfere with the camera angle.

For anyone looking at the C8 S6, I figured this out. It's a two part system and you need to push the clip on the inside to remove that first, then the license bracket comes out of the front (away from car) with a squeeze. See photos.
