Hi, the keyless entry on my 2020 A6 Avant is intermittent when trying to unlock the car. I would say it opens approximately 60% of the time using the door handle, the other 40% of the time I have to get the key out of my pocket and press the unlock button on the key (always works). When locking the car it works 100% of the time using the handle and when it won’t unlock, I can still press the square on the outside of the handle and it will try to lock and the lights will flash, proving that it is detecting the key and the lock function is still functioning so the problem is specific to unlocking the car. The success rate is the same with all door handles and the boot handle.

I’ve tried changing the battery and tried both keys and the results are the same. The length of time between locking the car and attempting to unlock doesn’t seem to be a factor as it can be 5 mins or 5 hours and the success rate of keyless entry is the same. Any suggestions on what the issue may be?

Hey Mate lots of people has the same issue and the talk about it on another german forum talk.de
I have the same issue, but unfortunately nobody has found a solution.

This precisely describes the problem with my recently purchased 2019 3.0 A6.

I've owned 4 other VAG cars with the convenience key and a GMC Sierra, all of these vehicles executed this function flawlessly. It is indescribably frustrating for it not to work after you've begun to expect it to!

Hi Guys,
I am new to this forum but not Audi.
I have just got an A6 2019 SE model and was wondering does all C8 come with keyless entry or does the SE not have this function?
If it should do am i missing something about activating it?
Any help would be great.

Specs vary by geography so you would need to verify what was offered in Ireland (assuming as you say your car is an SE it is an Irish market car and not a UK market version where SE is not a trim level offered on the C8). In the UK all cars had keyless start but keyless unlocking (just walk up and the car unlocks) referred to Audi as "Advanced Key" was only available as part of the Comfort and Sound Pack

Thank you for your replay. This is a UK import but yes the SE looks like it doesn't come with advanced key.
it has the keyless ignition but no advanced key.

If it is a UK market model then it is most likely a Sport model as there has not been an SE spec offered for the C8 in the UK (Only Sport and S-Line).
