Electric System Failure - very long repair time

I have a 2019 A6 Premium plus past its 4 year warranty anniversary. Got a letter saying I needed a Campaign 27BQ which the dealer scheduled for about a week later. All completed without charge. The service is on the complicated side involving replacement of the starter-alternator plus doing things like charging the battery, and refilling and bleeding the cooling system.. This is a safety service so that the car does not fail suddenly while driving due to what I gather is a discharged battery which can no longer support the electrical system that keeps the engine running or perhaps cannot restart the car. There is also mention of a problem with emissions..

Got our recall done, it only took two days from the local dealer. We were among the first to get the fix there, apparently. Goes without saying but I recommend setting up an appointment ASAP rather than later as I'm sure word will spread fast and waiting times will get longer.
As a side anecdote, I had an uncle who bought a new Toyota Tundra last year warn us about buying an Audi with the usual Scotty Kilmer unreliability spiel. Imagine my surprise (and probably his) when Toyota just today recalled 100K Tundra's and Lexus LX's for potential engine failures with their turbo V6. I'm still very happy with our decision to go Audi.

I, too, had the BSG (battery starter generator) system replaced under warranty by my dealer in Manhattan. Delivery of the part took a week and then they kept my car for two days. Everything works fine.

Just got my car back with the 4N1 Part installed replaced - Took 1 Day - According to the Parts Lady, She is "Stocking" the 4N1 Part and it is now the common part for all our 48V Cars / SUV's. She had 7 on hand and made my scheduled repair FAST. No issues and got a free wash! Total repair WAS a Software Flash and Alternator replacement - 2 Gaskets / 1 Washer / 1 Bolt and 1 Coolant. They also Charged the Battery (48V one). I asked about the battery, and they said they would replace it IF it needed / or drained completely. Mine never has and the previous BSG was working ok - so they did not. Hope that helps you all! Dealer did a great job as always.
