Default How do I check for latest MMI software version and update it?

2019 A6 55 and my Android Auto is so buggy!!! AA was just updated to version 12 on phone, and I'm hoping a software upgrade in the car is available to help iron out some bugs. How do I find the latest software package and load onto car? I'm certain I've not had an update since I bought the car 18 months ago. Or is this something only a dealer can do? Thanks!

There are instructions in the AW forums on how to update your MMI software, but it is typically only done by the dealer for specific issues (issues with the 360 degree overhead view was one). I have found my issues with Android Auto were either due to Android Auto or the app I was trying to use. Waze was particularly troublesome, requiring I revert to previous AA and Waze versions.

YMMV

Thanks, however, my phone with AA works flawlessly on my wife's BMW X5 and my daughter's Sentra. It's really the texting that always has glitches. It's always saying "oops, something went wrong" then just goes back to playing music. It takes forever to actually read an inbound text and even longer to hear me say yes or no when it asks if I want to respond. I'm going to have to call the dealer to see if they can update it. I wonder how much they will gouge me for the update.
