With the finance rates being so low right now, I was wondering if it would be a good idea to trade in my 2001 A4 for a 2002 A6. The A4 feels a little cramped (esp. when there are people in the backseat.)
Comments/experiences with your A6's would be appreciated!
Also, is the A6 truly larger inside than the A4?
Thanks!!

I have an 02 A6 (2.7t automatic). I've had it for 2 months, and like it very much. No problems to date. I have not driven an A4, but the A6 is in a totally different size class. I sat in several A4's, but couldn't even consider buying one because of the back seat. I have a car full of employees, customers, or somebody almost every day. The back seat of the A6 is very spacious, and there is more room up front, too. However, in part because of its size, the A6 may present a different driving experience than the A4. Smaller cars are usually more fun, and I have read that the 01 A4 is an especially nice driving car. My A6 is definitely tilted toward "luxury" rather than "sport." It's quiet, smooth, but even in unchipped form is fast enough for any sane person (excludes many of us on this board). I moved into this car from a 97 Mercedes E320, and the A6 is as much a luxury car as the MB. I do not have the sport package. I liked the firmer suspension, but found the seats too confining.

I wrote this up a while ago but never seemed to post it...
(- feature missing, 0 no-op, + feature addition)
Performance
0 intercooler ducting similar (partially blocked like S4!).
- no vented front fender liners.
+ larger air intake scoop.
- no rear ventilated rotor.
+ true 2 1/4" dual exhaust.
Luxury:
+ rear-seat usable by 3 adults on long trips.
+ trunk space galore.
+ front seats and mirror memory for three drivers.
- overboosted steering (can be easily remedied by removing an under dash relay).
Other:
+ front/rear door pockets.
+ right mirror dips to show curb when in reverse.
+ two deep storage bins in trunk.
+ more front crush zone (gap between bumper and radiator).
+ solid interior bumper frame (S4's has holes cut it it).
+ cheaper insurance (for me at least).
/dan

My kids fit much better in the back than in my old S4. Odd thing about kids is that they don't get any smaller.
I've also carried 3 of my co-workers in the back of my S6 without too many complaints.
