Default '01 A6 2.7T Oil Change

Picked up a well used 01 2.7T for my daughter a while back and it is due for an oil change. Is there anything particularly unusual or weird I need to keep an eye out for?
TIA

When you remove/install the oil filter do not tighten/loosen without holding housing you are threading it onto. There was a service bulletin a ways back that states something like "When changing the oil filter, the oil cooler may become twisted (loosened), causing a leak between the oil cooler and upper oil sump." So be tactful with your non oil filter hand and hold the oil cooler housing whilst twisting the filter off...

Wow…first time I've heard of that in 14 years.

Me too. All those years of S4 ownership i never knew.

Then again, i dont put on oil filters with breaker bars and locktite, which appears to be standard Audi dealer practice.

LOL! Hyperbole alert….during the first 4 years of our 2K4.2A6 ownership when dealer maintenance was free, they changed oil every 8K and filter every 16K which worked out to a filter change maybe 3X in two years…lot of commute. But the filter was never put on super tight and I supplied synthetic 15W-40 amsoil marine/diesel oil.
FWIW, I switched to 5W-40 euro formula in 2008 or so and it was ok but the cam chain tensioner on the driver's side started acting up six months ago…switched back to 15W-40 last oil change (still doing 8K…oil analysis says negligible wear metals!) and the tensioner quieted down..no rattle at startup. I know I'm going to have to get in there this spring, but for now, all is well.

fair disclosure…lifetime amsoil dealer.

Yeah..the problem is probably in an inadequately fastened/tightened oil cooler.
