Did some homework on a6- avant with the help of the search, and some board members.

I test drove a 01 yesterday. I am hooked. Very impressive wagon. Could not believe how tight for a 52k car.

01 a6 avant 52.k miles bose radio only extra option , has CPO asking $24.5k. How much wiggle room is their on these cars. I have seen some go for 19k-23k on e-bay.

Today located and looked at same year color etc.(dealership closed) Nicer condtion, 40k miles, and most options except parktronic and nav. Same price $24.5k HOWEVER not sure it is CPO even though it is on dealers lot. Would like to purchase 2nd car with CPO. Can it be purchased for less then 24.5k with CPO, or is that a pipe dream?

Will be contacting dealer who has car tomorrow AM.

Any guidance would be appreciated.

so it is absolutely nothing like buying a new car with a set invoice cost for the dealer. Many variables.

Remember that you often pay less on ebay, as you are taking more of a risk of buying a car sight unseen. The ability to drive and inspect the car has it's own value.

A CPO warranty costs the dealer between $500 and $1K, plus anything required to bring it up to CPO spec. You cannot usually buy a car private party, and have the dealer then add on the CPO warranty.

I bought mine for about $20,000 out the door not including fiancing. My 2001 A6 Avant 2.8 quattro has the celebration package and the cold weather package. Color is Melange (champagne) inside and out. However has quite a bit of miles 75,000 to be exact but I got a warranty. Even though the car looks and runs great and I love this car!!! Prices do vary from location, im in California.

Well, I closed the deal on my first audi. Pick up Friday, Silver w/black interior, all options packages except parktronics, side sunshades and rear seat, 40k miles. One year left on Factory warranty, and 2year CPO. Asking $24.5k, worked them down to $22.5K. Car also brand new falken tires, and brakes.

Car has some scratches on tail where lifegate is located. Interior is in good shape.

I think( and hope ) this is a good price for a loaded a6 avant.
