Hi all,

My 5 years old daughter was playing around with the cupholder on the center console and now it's broken :-(. Trying to replace it and so far I got some trims off and took out three 8mm nuts and still stuck in there. Did a quick search on the top for A6 but did see any. Does anyone have a diagram or link to show how to remove the center console? Thanks in advance!

You do not need to remove the console to get the cupholder out. The cupholder and housing lift straight up. There are a couple of tabs on each side that hold the housing in place. If you can open the cupholder about halfway, look down the sides of the slot and you should see how the rectangular housing is secured. Maybe a plastic putty knife or taped flat-head screwdriver is all you really need.

Pricey to replace that sucker...but maybe as around to see if anyone has a spare.

Great thanks. I got it out finally. Yeah, I try to get it from the top but it was stuck in there pretty good since it got all kind of spills and leaks into that cup holder and basically it glue itself in there. I figured out how to take the console center out by first removing the back air vent in the back of the console at the rear passenage side. There were a 13mm screw to take out the swinging arm rest. I also had to take out another 13 mm was holding the back of the armrest. After that, I lift the rear of the console and reach into the cup holder compartment to take the whole thing out. I had to literally chisel the cupholder out of the center console holder to get that thing out after that. Then it took me an hour or so to clean up all the parts and trim from years of spills into the hard to reach cracks before putting it all back. Its well worth the effort though after all that.
