Default 1 huge "bump" + 1 car =

The "bump". The state had this marked with 1 simple bump sign, about 50 feet before the actual bump, which wasn't a bump as much as it was a huge hole, probably 6 inches deep, and very squared off.

I went over this at about 40 at most. I must have hit it just perfectly at the deepest part of the hole, because..

The impact caused the brake pad wear sensor wire to break off of the pad, and caused the ash tray to open by itself.

It also caused:

2 flat tires. Bent wheels. Badly bent wheels.

Luckily, one of my co-workers drives a Passat, so I borrowed one of his spares.. Yeah, this is a sexy look..

Kris I was just up in your area the last few days visiting my brother.. Sorry to see the bent wheels! I managed to have better luck on the roads I was using.

inner lips are unsupported and the usual bent point. Can be trued to better than new. I use USA wheels, Fairfield NJ. ~$100/ea + ship. Sometimes do package discounts.

I'm sure they are on goog/bing.

Thanks for the tip! They don't appear to be cracked, just bent badly... here's hoping!

Good God that sucks.. I'd have the state pay for new wheels. You have it documented. State road work should not be that hazardous.. could have easily caused an accident.

the problem is, these wheels aren't made any more.. which means I'd need 4 new wheels, and 4 new tires, as I'm sure these tires are junk after taking that impact.. *sigh*

Kris, sorry about your misfortune. Happily you are ok, no serious damage occured. Where did this happen?
Also, Amazing wheel damage on RAM's 18" S4 Avus wheel. That wheel is square. I own a '04 S4 with same wheels. And I also live in NJ.
It aint easy.

I'm kinda diggin the black wheels on one side look! Very gangsta for VT! In all seriousness glad you weren't hurt and I know a guy locally who will straighten the wheels if that's of any help. Let me know.

LOL! Thanks Bill! I appreciate that no one was hurt, and honestly, I'm not upset other than the fact that I really like these wheels.. And they are NLA.

Your local guy, he's good? Depending on what happens, I may try to get them fixed.
