Default Does anyone know what size spacers I should get to fit Wineglass wheels

on a 02 A6 2.7T with ATE calipers? I thought 3-5mm would work but now I am not so sure. I would hate to get the wrong size and have to return them. The calipers actually scraped 1/4 of the inside of the front wheels, so it would seem that 3mm would be enough.

Default Why not experiment with washers (for measuring ONLY), to see??? I highly doubt...

...anyone really knows what size spacers would be required for sure since most spacers are the result of upgrading wheels, and very few folks have upgraded to wineglass wheels.

The other thing you could do if your winter tires still have plenty of tread is to find a set of the OEM 2.7T wheels from 2000-2001 (flared 5-spoke wheels) which will ahve plently of caliper clearance. They are 16x7 ET45 wheels so you could reuse the tires you have. Those wheels are very inexpensive out on fleabay and other classifieds.

Default i used a piece of 5mm thick foam core board and made a test spacer to see

how big a spacer i needed when my new wheels didn't fit, give yourself at least 2-3mm clearance between caliper and wheel - that being said i'd go with the 8mm spacer as that is the smallest hubcentric spacer (i believe) they make. if you went with a 5mm, which is minimally what you need (2mm to clear caliper + 2-3mm clearance), it's going to decrease the amount of bearing width on the hub as 5mm spacers aren't hubcentric (if you don't know what that means, hubcentric means the spacer has an integral hub that fits over the existing wheel hub, 5mm spacers are just a flat disc)...in that case, you'd need 36mm bolts

They make 5mm hubcentric spacers, but they are too thin to add any mounting hub

Try fitting Wineglass wheels again after driving a day on 17s. Maybe everything "tightened up"?

Default if you need to replace them, look for some 4.2 16" wheels.

they fit over HP2's, so they definitely should clear the ATE calipers.
