Default I'm running 17s

I don't feel like chancing 18s in my area because they're more prone to bending than 17s.

Have a look at my pix for 17s on an A6. I think what's more important is the width of the wheel than the overall height of the wheel. An 18x7 would look silly, but a 17x8 is meaty in these wheel wells.

Default I like my 17's and I get a compliment on the looks now and then. Less

prone to bending problems and IIRC they weighed less with tires than the 18's.

Default You betcha audiSean, I love my 17s I'm in the same boat as you when it comes to 18s! just can't take

that chance of a bent rim. I total agree that it's the width of the tire that makes the car have that aggressive stance. I'm running 255/40 an they look awesome from the rear.

BTW I got the CD today, thanks a million!!!!

18s! Better to clear the big brake kit you're going to put on eventually

Default 17's are perfect balance of performance, appearance and stability for potholes riddled roadways

Default I second/third/fourth that... 17's are the perfect compromise...

<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/51356/b7_a4_17s.jpg"></center><p>
... and isn't everything a compromise? But 17's don't compromise very much. 18's are cool, but you can live worry-free with 17's.

Wheels in the pic are my new A4 (B7) 17" OEM's and ContiSport2's. Lovin' 'em... and they've made the ride and handling better without any sacrifices.

Lowering the ride height is the only thing on my wish list for the future. And they'll still work great when they're tucked up in the wheel wells a little more.
