It never even occurred to me to check before but I could not pass inspection because the rear tires were too worn!!!!! I did 4 autox events so I know the outside shoulder was a little worn, but the middle of the tire is a bit of a surprise..... (OEM contis)

Not too bad, I'd say....
The S6 is a performance car with performance (i.e., soft, sticky) tires on it. A few autocrosses will take their toll. I'd be surprised if anyone who drives an S6 even moderately agressively would get more than 20K on high performance tires -- without tracking or autocrossing the car.
I've got a Boxster S with 6,000 miles on it and the rears (Pirelli P Zero) are almost gone. Yeah, I've had it out for a few DE days at the track and auto x'd it once.
High horsepower + aggressive driving + soft tires = good business for Tire Rack.

The UPS guy already makes fun of me....
...because he is always delivering tires for my MCoupe (4 in the last 12 months).... I just didn't think Contis would last so little. They I saw that they only have a 160 wear rating vs 220 of Pilots and S03s.....hmmm more wear and less grip, how did they do that?
