My A6 is having some issues.
Symptoms:
-Just turns over, backfires occasionally
-Tries to start, finally does and dies almost immediately.
-Throttle does not keep car running.
-Has gas, tested ignition, getting spark, has compression.
-Tried to read codes, getting message "Unable to make connection" or something like that.
-Only once, I received message saying "Press clutch to start engine" -It's an automatic.
LOST!!!

I had it towed to Audi the other day, they had it for 3 days and determined the main problems are the ignition coil and the alternator. I replaced the coil when I got home and still same thing, cant imagine a bad alternator keeping it from running when being hooked up to another car. Its getting gas, at least to the fuel rail, not sure about the injectors, spark is fine.
Is the air intake hose the hose in the front of the box?

So... had it towed to my guy the other day, he is not sure whats wrong with it, but he told me that I first needed to replace the alternator and the coil pack.
Replaced alternator and coil pack, put it all back together, tried to start it...
Now i get...
Crank, crank, crank, starts, runs for maybe 2 secs (a lot smoother and quieter), I hear a loud audible beep, then it dies. Its almost like the beep is telling me something is wrong, but i really have no clue.
So guy hooked it up to his diag, still gets no connection, so he thinks the computer is bad.. is this a possibility?
