I have a 99 2.8 avant wagon. when first starting off, i have no pick up power until the pedal is half way down. i checked all calipers, none frozen. i had transmission checked for proper mode...good. i changed the spark plugs...but still no power unless i push the pedal all the way down. going up hills is even worst. Any suggestions????

Check for codes in ECU and TCU. Could need a throttle body calibration if it is a DBW engine.
If no codes and TB calibration doesn't help then VAG-COM will be necessary to see what is going on.
