I am in need of some assistance.
I understand that a 5/112 35 mm offset wheel will fit over the larger calipers. but some wheel dealers have told me their 18 x 8.5 wheels with a 30 offset will fit. I will probably going with 18x 8.5 wheels.
Please help, I am a bit in the dark.

If you want to spend a lot, the BBS RK 2 piece fit and are the most beautiful I have seen. The plain RK look great also (non 2 piece).

I have been told it goes beyond offset on my 2.7. Due to the large callipers the spokes need some curvature to clear. Tirerack said they have tried all the wheel that they list and the 2.8 wheels that are not listed hit the callipers.

there is a new group-purchase forming for wheels. The leading choices are:
1) S6 AVUS wheel, 17" x 8", 35mm offset
2) S8 AVUS wheel, 18" x 8" (I think), 42mm offset (again, I think)
Both wheels are made by Speedline in Italy, and are the factory wheels for those cars.
Depends on response...see previous post here and wheel/tire forum for details.

The wheels I mention are installed on a demo at the Audi Store- Dallas.

Not 17" x 8". Also, as Rick G mentioned, it does go beyond offset. The offset really only determines the mounting of the rim relative to the base of the studs. It doesn't determine clearance of the brake calipers.

Do you know if it had any suspension work on it too? How was the ride hight?
