I have a 2001 Audi Allroad 2.7t manual with a starting issue. It happens every time when the car is warm and doesn't mattter on outside temp. I will drive it then go into the store for about 30 mins, I try to start it but just cranks for a long period 10-15 sec. It will start and run a little rough for about 5 secs then idle fine. I can turn off the car right away and try starting it again and it starts right away. I replaced the plugs, oil, fuel filter, checked fuel pressure and it is within specs,I checked the injectors and they are not leaking. CTS is also working great.
No CEL and scanned car and no codes.Local Audi dealership has no ideas.

How do you know the CTS is working great. VCDS? I assume you know that the CTS has two elements, one for the gauge and one for the ECM. It won't always throw a code when it fails. Seems like temp related starting issues are usually related to the CTS, at least in my experience. Have somebody look at and smell the exhaust while you try to start it. Raw gas smell or black smoke means too rich. My CTS failed twice on the same engine as yours and the symptoms were as you describe.

Pressure check valve at the fuel pump letting the pressure bleed off if shut down for extended period of time. System needs to come back up to correct pressure before engine will start. If shut off and then attempt a restart immediately pressure still sufficient to allow injectors to function.
