I have a 2000 a6 2.7t 190k on it. I will start by saying this little audi still has the original turbos, and original clutch at 190k. I am starting to notice a little bit of oil leaking from the turbos. enough to get a drop or two after I park. I am assuming I am probably getting near having no choice but to pull the motor and replace the turbos, but I am wondering if anyone has any insight into when exactly you know you need to replace them.
The thing drives great, no hesitation, no hissing, or weird noises from the turbos. Having someone follow me, I have been told I have a very small amount of oil burn off under boost.
Any insight would be great!
Thanks

How do you know it's coming from the turbos? Sounds unlikely that they would suddenly leak after 200k. Have you checked valve covers, cam seals, cam plugs and cam adjuster seals for leakage? Much more likely IMHO.

I spent last week doing timing belt, waterpump, pulley's ect. also replaced broken bank 1 tensioner and replaced both tensioner seals and vlave covers.
I wiped everything down pretty well, or so I think.
Inspection of valve cover/ tensioner seals shows no evidence of leaks now. all is clean
From under the car I can see oil saturation around turbos, and the oil is pooling around where the turbo connects to the air inlet tube.
When I get home and the rain stops, I will post a picture of what I see.

Well, unless I am missing something, or I need to turn into gumbi, I can't seem to find a way to actually check the oil lines. I can't really get to these turbos easily. If there is a way I am ALL EARS!!!!
I think what I may do is leave it as is, and then pull the motor, inspect and rebuild the turbos with a rebuild kit, just for good measure.
This car isn't my only "daily driver" so it won't hurt much to have her down for service for a week or so. It seems like a turbo rebuild is pretty simple so long as the blades are in good shape
