Default It might be worth investigating whether Golden Lodge plugs

will fit and work. It is a copper based multi-electrode plug designed for cars that tend to foul easily (I don't have the exact specs, but it not quite like the Bosch plugs - besides the platinum). They are around $5 each.

If I recall correctly, the 25HL is the coolest, HL is medium, the 2HL is the warmest, and used in many V6 Alfas (among other cars) for the last 25 years. Anyway, I run 2HL inmy car and swap them out every 25/30K when I do the timing belt.

Default My dealership did this for me at every service

didn't think twice, apparently it's a well-known issue with the 2.8.

Default Re: I've never had a plug stick (knocking on wood) but I like the Platinums...

I'm in Lexington Ky, but I'll withhold the name. I got a feeling there are some here that would accuse me of cruising the forums in order to pedal my wares. Not interested in that, I'm just a little hyper, gotta be doing something every waking minute. Ed

Default I wouldn't worry...

But it is nice sometimes having a pro around now and then.

Default Use MotorClean Internal Engine Cleaner

Kaleco's synthetic blinker fluid is also top-notch stuff.<ul><li><a href="http://www.kalecoauto.com/fluids.htm">MotorClean Internal Engine Cleaner</a></li></ul>

Default Re: "The first time you take the aluminum threads out with that ol plug"

<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/1018/a8_plug_2.jpg"></center><p>BTDT, except it didn't take out the threads, the plug broke first. I guess that's a good thing, thinking about it.

See:

<a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/a8/msgs/24844.phtml">I am sooooo screwed. Suggestions welcomed.</a>

Followed by:

<a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/a8/msgs/25272.phtml">Success! (broken spark plug repair follow up)</a>

And I got an email, and then a call, for advice on this, from a guy with a 12V A4, in the last few days. In fact, I need to go check on that one, see how he did.

Default I'd really like your shop name.

My son is about to be at UK in the A6 in the Fall, and I want to have your info available. I'm in ATL.
