It's because of drivers like yourself that we are stuck with slow poke drivers that just care about acceleration and not the high speed ability of a car like the A6 2.8 that tops out ungoverned at around 140 MPH. On a track or on an open road the 2.8 will make minced meat out of your Toyota truck that you think erroneously is more responsive. The A6 is much more responsive after 1 or 2 seconds. Isn't there a Toyota forum for you.

Look at what he's talking about below. I'm addressing his comparison. And an A6 is much more responsive after the first second or two. Trust me I know about acceleration and responiveness, I drive a 4.2.

I could be wrong, but I seem to remember him posting awhile back that he either drives or has ordered a BMW. He has frequently posted negatives about the Audis--all models. Bad10--what's up your butt? I mean, why stick around here?

Get a grip! I have never said that I have a BMW on order and I do not bash all things Audi. If that was the case why would I be considering a 4.2! I only said that the 2.8 is slow. I wont retract that statement. The 2.8 is a nice car, just underpowered. Big deal. Cant you handle someone stating that. That is my opinion and I am free to express it. Many people feel the same way. Dare someone say something negative about an AUDI.

As an owner of a Toyota pick-up who happened to drive a friend's new A6 2.8, your opinion, while you're certainly entitled to it, isn't worth 2 cents to me. I, for one, could not care less WHAT you think about the A6 2.8 or anything else.

Enjoy your pick-up. If you ever grow up, maybe you'll realize that the merits and weaknesses of a car go far beyond whether or not it can accelerate from zero to 60 in less than 7 seconds.<p>mpuzach

Where is that coming from? I never made spectacular statements about my damn truck! I hate driving it probably more than you would. However, I need it to haul my boat and my motorcycle and usually have a car as my primary vehicle. Unfortunately, my secondary vehicle(truck) has become my only vehicle for the time being. I believe it will all be worth it when I can drive the new BMW 530 and compare it to the 2.7 and 4.2 . Only then will I feel comfortable making my choice. Did I ever say anything about taking on an AUDI, or anything else for that matter, with my truck at a racetrack? NO! I never said the 2.8 wasn't a nice car, just underpowered. Why do you guys get all bent out of shape over that? The 2.8 obviously provides a helluva lot better driving experience than my truck, but since you have demonstrated a level of immaturity I will say this: my lowly truck will give the 2.8 a run for the money in the 1/4 mile. Remember, 190hp at 2800lbs -vs- 200hp and 3700lbs. You do the math! Does this mean that I think the only important aspect of a vehicle is 1/4 mile times? OF COURSE NOT!
I never judged the 2.8 to be a bad car, just underpowered. Based on the performance of other cars in its class I would say that that is a pretty fair statement. How can you even compare a $17000 truck to your 35-40k Audi? I would hope it would kick my POS truck in every catigory. And it does, just not in power. Really, comparing the two is apples to oranges.

Bad10, I can tell from the way you write that you are obviously not an idiot, at least not an uneducated one. Hell, I wouldn't even call you immature. However, I do not understand why you would come to our forum and drop what seems to be flame bait in the form of turds on the middle such fine folks' hoods?

On one hand, you admit that a turd is not a good thing. On the other hand, you state that you never said the 2.8 wasn't a nice car. Nice car...turd...well, whatever.... But really, when you make a post titled, "2.8 a turd", you are going to get a reaction, which makes me think that is what you were looking for. If so, you succeeded. Want a stronger reaction? Go to a biker bar and start yelling, "Harley Davidsons are turds!"

But seriously, if that was not your intention, then you really ought to think a little more about what you want to say and where you are posting it.
