I'm replacing my cats soon, and there's also another leak in my system somewhere. I've been looking for full exhaust systems for the 2.8 and have come up with nothing.

So. On to my question.

Should I buy my cats, resonators etc and have a muffler shop build me something custom?

Or is the some mystery place that I can just buy a bolt on replacement (preferably aftermarket)?

What's wrong with the cats? Why not just fix the problem?

patch up the stock exhaust. muffler shops can reapair leaks., your cats should last at least 10 years and usually outlast the car. are they "crumbling" inside? my 99' exhaust has not been touched and works fine (silent).

The cats are shot. And need to be replaced. I've had the catalyst codes since I bought the car and now there's a pinging, bad smell and what sounds like loose material.

Mine is a 2000 and shot.


I hate the 2.8's hidden muffler tips and also want to freshen up the underbody some.


Can I have stock 2.7T mufflers installed if I buy a 2.7T Bumper Valance?

Smell like rotten eggs? make sure emissions are ok and not causing them to go bad.

The cat codes are the only ones I have (and an O2 code from me twisting the wire while unsuccessfully trying the defouler mod). I'm gonna start be swapping the cats, then I'll go from there.

I really want an all nre system. Is there no option for the 2.8?

(I'm not trying to be a ricer or drag racer, but I do want something nicer than stock.)

Dealer told me there is no reflash. I looked into it the first time I posted about the cat codes.
