The Tb service on these cars is a weak point to me. Its jus a lil more complex than most cars. Most owners dont have a clue what needs to be done at this time. and jus get the belt and water pump and maybe the rollers/tensioners done. Mostly enthusiasts know about the bad seals, updated seals ...making the average joe pay more later and making the car look unreliable...It helps me understand why i dont see many Audi's on the road.

Get the "enhanced" kit, it comes w the hydrolic tensioner as well, get the valve cover kit as well, it comes w all the seals you should do also, crank access plug kit, and do the radiator fan swuitch.

If you get all this done correctly, the engine is bulletproof. (30v)

theres so much misinformation about turbos out there now, with new watercooled jackets you donot need to let the car idle if you were driving normally,(now if you like me and you just boosted the last quarter mile to work yeah take a lap around the offcie building and let her cool down). also i ge from 4-6k on my synthetic no problems, the key is to buy good oil, and sorry, but its not cheap. although the rotella 5-40 syn or the devlac syn is really good, i would reccomend motul

I paid $1,700 for everything, worth every penny. Its better to pay 1,700 once than 1,200+ twice more times in one service intervel. the engine is strong and smooth and does not leak a drop of oil at 105,000 miles, i can truly say that once your service all the areas of this car (TB,CA's/TR's,struts,filters/fluids,h2o hoses,ABS module refurb, brakes, fan clutch,tune-up)its made my ten yo Audi run like new again, better than when I bought it used with 50,000 miles
