2001 4.2 front axle flange removal question

I have an oil leak around the front RH (Driver) axle flange where the CV front the driveshaft bolts up. I have the seal on order and last night started to strip the car, I unbolted the CV from the flange and expected to find a centre bolt holding the flange in the diff (like the rear has), but is has no mounting bolts at all.
I did some research online and Bentley Manual (which was useless), and it looks like I have the below type of flange, with a bearing housing.

From reading an A8 post, it sound like the flange is held in with a ring clip, and to remove you screw longer bolts into the CV mount holes and gradually wind them in like a bearing puller until the flange pops out, anyone don’t this??
I presume you replace the seal and with a knock of a hammer bang the flange back in place, is that correct?
Also is there any reason to remove the bearing housing?, looks like it is held in by 3 torx as shown in the below image, are there any seals worth replacing in this housing whilst I have it all out?

Thanks for any advice
