Its a tip and I've been told to be very careful about selecting the right people to do this.

Default I work in Irvine Live in Anaheim Hills

AMS has a chip designed for the A6 Tip cars. I believe an A6 out here has one and I'm sure that person would email you with the details. It has 310hp and 300lbs torque. AMS designed it to reduce strain on the Tip. Other chips usually run 310hp and 330-360lbs of torque.
Drhaller(posts here) has provided a sheet that shows the HF(HP?)-24 Tranny is rated at ~330 lbs torque. SO its your call if there is engr fluff in that number.
AMS has ECU chip and Tip Chip. THere are in Costa Mesa. Mark and Doug do a good job.
The Tip chip does not speed up shifting(I may be wrong on this). The only Tip chip that speeds up shifting today is the GIAC Tip chip. I have ridden in cars with the GIAC Tip chip and it is smooth and really changes the shift response. Makes it fun to drive cause when you shift you dont have to wait awhile for anything to happen. I do believe you can run the GIAC Tip chip along with other brands ECU chip.
The GIAC ECU chip produces 310hp and 330-360lbs of torque. If you are interested in that talk to Jeff Moss at Velocity Tuning in Carson. He is very good and very nice to work with. Also Garrett Lim works and lives out here in Irvine so there is some personal support since he is in the area. Garrett is a doctor at UCI and has been doing chips for quite a while. In fact when other tuners have been stumped he has been able to make things work.
APR has a nice setup with the ECMS. But I dont know of any support out here for them. Maybe someone can help with that brand.
Chipping will add a strain on your car so be sure this is what you want to do.
If me, I would purchase a new ECU box and have the upgrade chip installed in that and keep your stock box untouched. I would do the same thing with the Tip Chip-especially the Tip chip since that box has little tabs that will break off when you open and close it. Good luck if you have any questions feel free to email me at joseph_stuesser@transcom.sony.com
If you would like to ride in a modded car let me know, I may know of a chipped A6 in the area.

Default No. But they do good work and are nice people....

They are fitting Koni shocks for me today. They installed the chip and will probably do some other work for me later. I pick up my car between 4-5pm today. Hopefully the float will be gone!
