2001 audi a6 2.8 valve cover gasket replacement problem
Hi
I am fresh to car repair. Today I tried to replace my 2001 audi a6 2.8 valve cover gasket, because there is some oil link. Things went smoothly when I finished changing the gasket and fastened the bolts on the valve cover. I followed the instruction that from center to corners, opposite corners. But the right corner bolt was broken. I marked it in the picture below. It was broken into half. I don't know how to deal with this. can someone give me some advice. how should i replace it. is it safe to drive without replacing it. Thanks.

You really need to fix it or it'll leak. Is the stud snapped flush with the head, or can you grab it with a pair of vice-grips and thread it out?
BTW-that's a 2.7t head (although externally they are nearly identical, just splitting hairs)

it's safe to drive without replacing it. however you'll need to keep eyes on the engine oil level if the leaking is serve you might want to replace it.
valve cover gasket parts are about 30-40 dollars and 1-2 hour labor for 6 cylinder audi.
