Default 2002 A6 4.2 Lease .... I am confused.............

-scats- posted his S6 lease deal, and the numbers
I am getting for 4.2 don't seem correct.
Sticker - $51,489
Cap cost - $49,651
Total due at lease signing - $5000
(incls some $$ down,all taxes,lic,1st pymnt,guzz)
36 month / 10,000 miles/year
Monthy payment $690.00
----
-scats- S6 cost $9000 more, he put down $500 less,
he gets 5,000 more miles/year,
and his payment is only $22/month more??
A friend owns the Audi dealership, and I don't usually question the deals his sales people offer me, but something seems wrong with these numbers.
Please advise - Thanks

Default Basically, his deal is excellent and your's is so-so...

although, maybe for $5k down and only 10k per year, your deal may actually suck.
Your cap cost is too high...should be ~$1k less...how are you getting a 4.2 with such a low MSRP? Does it have any options? Sport package?
Talk to scats dealership...make a better deal...10k a year is terrible.

Default Help me -scats-, tell me how to contact your dealer...

My lease quote was for the only A6 4.2 currently available at either of the local St.Louis area Audi dealers.
Premium pkg, and 17" pie plates -
That's all it had on it -
I currently have 4.2, and the dealer advised the $800 current Audi owner loyalty credit was taken into account in the Cap Cost he quoted.
I am going to use -scats- S6 lease deal as the benchmark for a good S6 lease, but I am looking for a benchmark for a good 4.2 lease

Default What's your Residual and the Money Factor? Need more information.

I have LeaseWizard software and tried running your numbers. The only way I could "fiddle" to your payment is have a high residual payment due at the end (57%). Money factor was set at .00275.

Scats deal is very good but you should be able to get something very comparable.

Default Do you want an S6?

If so, you will probably not be completely satisfied with a non-sport 4.2.

I highly recommend finding either a sport 4.2 with all the things you want on it or getting the S6 that you really want. If you're spending this much on a car, you should get EXACTLY what you want, not some compromise because the availability is poor in your area...cars can be found anywhere and for < $1000 you can ship it to St.Louis.

I lived in St Louis for 4 years...I'd highly recommend the warm weather package...it gets freaking hot there in the summer.

Good luck...apparently there is a black S6 somewhere out there in Bernardsville that they can't sell (TraderAlex knows about it)...maybe you can work a deal with them...I want to trade my 4.2 in on a Black S6...hey, ya' wanna buy my 4.2? It's mint!

Default I originally wanted 4.2 w/sport pkg,

and now the S6 is "growing on me" -
I have a friend at Audi of Europe, and he said the "in" cars in europe right now are the Audi and BMW avants, and all the old boring guys in suits are driving the sedans.
I have had soo many problems with my current 4.2,
that I just want to get rid of it asap.
The brakes failing last week kinda freaked me out.
You are right -
I need to be patient -
I'll get the car I want and probably get a better deal with all your guys help.
I emailed the dealer about the black S6

Default JACKK is your lease up, or is the dealer buying your car???

A heard there was a new program out this week, but I do not know if it applied to the 4.2. The lease rate equated to 1% apr and if the dealer buys your car Audi make the last 3 payments of your lease. It definately seems to be a buyers market right now, you should be able to get a killer deal if you shop around.
