You will not see any mpg improvements, and some people found the exhaust is too loud without the resonator.

Keep the resonator ( why you would take out a minimally restrictive part is beyond me) and get rid of the mufflers and go straight pipe or magna flows/Remus

REMUS USA Response... REMUS offers a "Sport" exhaust for this genre A6, however, if it's the Left / Right version, vs. Left only, it's meant for the T.D.I. model. If you'd like, I can do further research to see the fit compatibility between your "4B" gas model 2.7L T and the 2.5L T.D.I. ~ This is not in stock, but is available from REMUS Austria, and can be acquired for you.

Otherwise, if you have a Left exit only, REMUS offers an RS (Rear Silencer) that covers from 1.8L Turbo, the 2.8L V-6, and the 2.5L T.D.I. This alone might indicate to us that the L/R (above) may fit and work well for your car. This Left only is in stock here at REMUS U.S.A.

As a few other posters have said, Audi's mid silencers are not very restrictive. Our typical recommendation is to first install the RS's and then if the sound isn't loud enough for you, delete the Front Resonators.

I hope this helps. Let me know how I can be of further assistance, okay?

Mr Remus man, do you have any universal mufflers that could be welded in on the a6?

Default REMUS USA Response

Thanks for the inquiry on the REMUS Universal Mufflers. The series you'd want to be looking at on our web site would be any of the Universals, either single or dual outlet, that have the multiple stepped inlet, starting at 2" going to 2.25" and then 2.5". These are meant to handle up to 270 H.P. each. So, the 003492 XXXX series for dual tip, or the 001490 XXXX series for single tip designs.

Here is a link to the Universals section on our web site (pg 2 of 3): http://www.remususa.com/epages/remus...ID=7214&Page=2

I hope this helps. Let me know how I can further assist.
