2002 S6 Avant ,Nemo Blue
So now I wait for my S6 to be delivered. Does anyone have a good
picture of a Nemo Blue S6 Avant? I might have selected a different color,
but my dealership said even 3 months out the dye was cast per Audi.
How many S6 Avants will be produced this year? They say 5-6000 units...
true? Thanks!

1,000 to 1,200 units!? That sure isn't very many. Where did you source
this information? My dealership seems to be somewhat in the dark,or,
that the numbers are some deep secret.Are there any other sites like our
Audiworld for enthusiasts' questions which are good? Thanks!

There are about 400 dealers in the US. Not all want to try and sell an S6.
I think you may find the allocation info in the archives off the homepage here on AW. The 1200 number came from '02 allocations. The same number is planned for this year.
Audi has really cracked down on dealers ordering the cars on speculation - only to have them show up on ebay when they discovered that most S6 buyers have a very specific set of colours and options in mind, and don't want just any old combination. Audi is now requiring the customer contact info from the dealer at the time that the car is ordered at the factory.

I WILL be getting a Nemo Blue S6 Avant.. It isn't listed as an
available color,but Sunset Audi in Portland confirms that
IS what I'm getting. You had said that input from me,the buyer,
was an Audi prerequisite to stop speculation. I was told I could
NOT change the color or options as the order had gone in. 3 months
out and Audi can't/won't revise my order. I'm now happy to get
the Nemo and options,but this doesn't seem to track with your
"input" scenario...unless I'm being horsed around.
