2003 A6 2.7T Coil pack failure...
Well, it seems my A6 killed the #2 coil pack yesterday. Just got off the phone with the dealer who said its common on the 1.8 and 3.0 engines but this is only the second one he's replaced on a 2.7. Go figure that I'd be the lucky one. 
At least it wasn't the turbo's I smelled.

coil pack is what fires your spark plug, when one fails, those cylinders stop making power
the check engine light will come on also and show cylinder misfire detect. the car will feel a lot slower too.
