I have awhining noise coming from either the power steering or tranny. It has been going on for a year while not getting worse. The car has the CVT and someone told me they are louder (which i dont believe)

I had the local shop flush my PS fluid and put in approved fluid. My thinking is someone put the wrong fluid in but it did not change the noise.

Any thoughts? Kind of sounds like buzzing radio feedback on a bad radio install if you know what i mena.

My 4.2 did that the entire 4 years I owned it. Figured I'd fix it if it ever broke, whatever it was. I suspected the PS pump was on the fritz.

It does it from the moment i start it up till i shut it off. Very noticeable at idle. You can hear it outside the car from a distance.
