Default 2003 Audi A6 3.0 Quattro Oil Light indicator....

Hey wassup guys alright so I've had my audi for about a month now and there is this indicator that pops up on the instrument cluster that looks like a oil tin can. It's red and blinks and beeps about three times. Then when I push the switch in front it says " switch off. engine, check oil pressure. " I'm brand new to cars and brand new to Audi so please any person knows what this means? And a solution to fixing this problem? The beeping gets really loud and annoying....

Default Red symbols are critical "shut engine off now"

Either your oil pressure switch or connection is bad or a problem such as a clogged oil pick up screen or a bad pump.

I know too many or's, have this issue checked out soon and don't run that engine.

Default Oil change.....

....I'd doubt it, sounds like you need to have the previous mentioned items checked out if your not able to do so.

You can see oil on the dip stick?

Default Your rolling expensive dice if you don't know

Here's the low down with this problem, every time you run the engine with low oil pressure engine damage will occur. "And I mean period."

I'm not sure how mechanically inclined you are to check the sensor
