Default 2004 A6 2.7T seat belt retraction problem

For about a year the drivers seat belt does not seem to fully retfract so that if I don't pay attention and just slam the door, it hits the bely and then I have to help the belt retract. Took car to dealer when it was under warranty and they claimed nothing wrong. Now it is out of warranty.

Replace the assembly. There's pyro in there for the pretensioners... don't mess with it.

Default Take it back

Find out if they think it's a problem now. I suspect they will and they will want you to pay for it. Then have them go back and check the records and point out that it was a pre-existing condition under warranty that was never repaired. You might bring up the safety aspect. Especially if you are injured in an accident and your injury is related to the belt.

Default Re: Take it back

Took it to the dealer . Was told Audi may only cover 75% of the belt replacement.Told them all or nothing. They are working on it. Sounds like the dealer wants to make a profit above what warranty will pay them. They did agree to do it, though.

Default Rector Motors replacing the belt for no charge

Thanks for all the advice.p.s. I have had two A4's , a 3.2 and a 2.0T. Don't like either compared to my A6. Seats too small, engines noisy.
