when the automatic transmission is shifted to "R" or "D" at standstill. No such problem at "P" or "N". Is this normal?
The car is a 3.0L I just bought.
A Honda Accord I have just gotten rid off has had the same exact problem. I drove it to 150K without getting worse.

My quick answer is "of course" - its in gear, with the torque converter pushing against the brakes holding it back. Does your dog buck against the leash? Now try it with the leash not on his/her neck.
