2004 A6 Avant vs. Allroad?
I'm about to purchase a 2004 A-6 Allroad, but I just want to double check that the salesman is being straight with me. He said the cubic feet of the cargo area, and the head/ leg/ shoulder room for the front and rear passengers are exactly the same between the 04 A6 3.0 Avant and the 04 2.7T all-road. Can anyone confirm this? Besides the engine, and the adjustable suspension, what are the major differences between the two? Thanks!

styling, engines and transmission choices are different...
...aside from the visual differences with body trim, headlights, etc., the allroad has 2.7T V6 or 4.2 V8, and a choice of manual tranny with the 2.7T V6.
The A6 avant will only be a 3.0 V6 (after 2002) and only come in auto tranny.
Inside cargo space is identical.

Allroad is a re-style of the Avant with some mechanical changes.
Really they should have called it the A6 Avant Allroad. Your salesman is correct.
The main difference, apart from the body cosmetic changes, is that the Allroad has strengthened suspension and frame to stiffen it and cope with tougher terrain, and the raising / lowering suspension.
