4.2 vs 2.8 rear seating. I read here that there is a difference. Why?

I'm running forward facers in the middle in both my 2.7T's as permanently installed. Works great.

Outside North America, the 4.2 is fitted with a three-passenger rear seat.

Does a North American 4.2 have a large fuel tank than a 4.2 sold elsewhere?
