Default 5 weeks.

I had an accident around 5 weeks ago. An audi started work on my cdar within a week of it...Its been 4 weeks not havign a car and it doesnt seem like its coming within another week. Is this too long or is it me...It was sum significant frontal damage. I am not saying which dealer I sent it in for repairs. But let's just say I bought my car from Bell Audi... Is this a common track record for them.

Default RULE #1 - Dont use a dealers for body work.

Find out before you need a body shop what a good one is, and use them. I have used the same body shop since I was 16, for anything from ford mustangs to my corvette...my audi (knock on wood) if it ever needs it.

I used to work in an industry where we had a lot of interaction with dealers, body men start at dealers for their training and such, then move to private shops when they are skilled and want real money.

Default Unless you're leasing...

In which case I'd advocate for the dealer - that way you're more protected against any adverse claim from Audi at lease turn-in.

Default I think it is pretty normal...

I've never had the dealer do the work, but have had front end damage which included my suspension. Hate to tell you, but it took almost two months to fix - they claimed it was a parts availability issue. Regardless...they did an excellent job - was worth waiting for because the job was done right!

Default Ding ding ding!

I had this same situation with my Saab. My insurance company tried to steer me towards some general-purpose body shops that they had deals with, but I insisted on using the body shop that the dealership was in bed with. That way, at lease end, if anyone tries to give me any crap about the quality of the repairs, I will just say "Gee that's odd, because I went to the body shop you recommended. Do you guys normally send people to crappy body shops?"

They fixed one thing at a time....car has been there for over 2 weeks and they haven't even bothered to call me......so much for expecting more from a dealership......KINGSTON AUDI......if you can all it that......from now on, i will wait till i go back to the gta to get my work done.....worst dealership service i've ever encountered....my friends got a 1991 G20.....he gets a loaner.....they tell me that after 3 weeks they may be able to get me one.....wow, lucky me

5 weeks is typical. Is your insurance paying for the rental?

Default RULE #2 - once you commit to having someone fix it, DON'T rush them.

The last thing you want is someone hurrying to finish the job.
