If I use a bit more pace and get to 35mph when it goes into 4 it goes normal as does 5 and everything else. When using really light throttle it's really annoying. Oh and this only happens when its up at operating temp..

How i repaired it:
1- I changed transmission filter, oil, filled with 7 quart at 35C
Conclusion: i tought it was okay, but problem occured again.
2- I drained oil again, thinking it was too duty, filled with 4.6quart
Conclusion: Did not fix it.

So i'v started my car (cold) and logged a run until problem occurs.

When torq is in "conv.reg" mod, the vibration/hunting begin at light trottle. But in torq OPEN, everything was fine.

3- Fixing the problem bypass of the conv.reg mod. Conv.reg is only applyed when tranny oil reach 20 degree celcius.

Near the TCU, i cutted wire 21 and 22 ( the temperature oil sensor wire ) and put a resistance of 889ohm 2watt. This make the TCU think oil is at 12degree celius. No limp mod, no check engine, and tranny now operating like a charm. at 60km/h , light trottle, no more vibration in fourth or fifty gear at about 1150rpm.
Hello,

Sorry for my bad English.

I have the same gearbox and I changed the ATF, improved a little vibration and RPM fluctuations but still there.

I want to do what you say about the resistance in the TCU.

But .....

This does not damage any part of the gearbox or the cooling pump to always be running? The ATF does not always work dilated thick to make operating temperature.

I want to do this but I'm afraid destroy another part of my transmission or cooling system.

How long you have it your way?

Have you had any flaw?

The resistance does not heat?

Greetings and thanks.

Hello,

I really need to install this resistor in my TCU for their support. thank you!

Disabling the torque converter lockup clutch will cause the fluid to heat up A LOT more than it used to. All the slippage of the TCC (several hundred rpm) turns into heat.

Here's a different solution for a finicky torque converter clutch:

It's a resistor in parallel on the current sense resistor for the TCC pressure valve. This will put more pressure on the clutch. I've done this for a friend and it worked wonders.
It seems the TCU does absolutely no closed loop adjustment of the pressure, just a dumb preset value. I've added 0.25w 10ohm resistors in parallel to with the P4 resistor in the picture. In my case I added four. I added one at a time and test drove.

If you're dealing with the seal issue, then this will not work for you, the seal let's all pressure out.

Hello,

I want to do this, I have vibration problems to 50km / h before spending 4 change and variations between 1600 rpm and 1900 rpm.

I'm not an expert in electronics, you can tell me where I have to solder the resistor?

I just want to repair this problem, I need to just put a resistor in EDS 4?

Thank you very much for your help and sorry for my bad English. I'm from Chile.

Can someone provide more details where the 'wire 21 and 22' is located? Colors?
Resistor between the 2 wires? Or in line with one of the wires?
