Default 99% pure Nitrogen used to inflate my tires yesterday. Has anyone tried this?

I was getting a 4 wheel alignment at Butler Tire in Atlanta (the Audi dealer referred me to them) and I noticed the store ad for nitrogen. Benefit of lower rolling resistance, less seepage out of the tire, less heat buildup at high speed driving. They say handling and tire life improve, too. At $7.50 a tire for the life of this current set of tires I thought I'd give it a try. On my drive home (80 miles) the car did seem more responsive in turns while at speed. Has anyone heard of this before?

Default We use it in the race tires. More stable with less pressure change with heat.

Haven't bothered on street cars.

Default The car seemed more responsive because you got an alignment...

As for the nitrogen, it holds less water vapor so the pressure fluctuation will be smaller. I see no point for the streets.

Cool. Never heard of this before. It's either a great innovation or a very smart scam ;-)

Default What pressure did you set because manufacturers figures are based on cold air which....

then heats up to provide the correct running pressure?

Default I see value in it if it's true that there's less seepage/fluctuation.

Not having to check tire pressure as often is a plus.

Default I used 38 psi with air so I stayed with that figure. I realize that this could be a scam but I saw

their nitrogen equipment and had previously checked out their reputation. My wife has also teased me about this newest mod.
