Hi,
I am trying to remove the lower windshield black trim from my 99 A6 Avant. I marked the windshield wiper arm placement with tape, removed the arms, remove the three U-Clips that are visible from the engine compartment (Either end and on in the middle near the battery).
Are there any other clips holding this trim on? I saw a post that stated 4 small clips underneath the trim, but i did not see them on my car. Perhaps it is glued in with Silicon. This is the original windshield.
Any ideas? Or does anyone have the factory manual handy?
I do not want to break the trim. If it is glued down - I will leave well enough alone.
Thanks - Frank

of course, the wiper arms are going to need to come off.
Are you upgrading to the 2002+ wiper arms....like me?
Good luck!

Hi TeddyBGame,
Should I start at one corner, windshield side and work the plastic knife under the trim and push towards the engine compartment? Or should I slide the platic putty knife alongthe windshield?
What holds it on?
I am actually trying to clean up some debris. The car sat outside under a tree during its life with the previous owner.
Not sure what the 2002 Wiper Arms look like. I have the stock SWK (or SKW) arms. The drivers side has a water shield on it.
