Now with winter coming I´m looking to buy a second hand 99 Audi A6 2.5 TDI(155hp) state or the BMW 525 TDS(143 hp) state. I make a lot of Km a year so diesel is a main option.
What do you expert A6 owners think of both?

The BMW on the other hand may give you a firmer, "sportier" ride.
If you keep away from Audi's Servotronic the road feel/involment should be more or less the same for both car.
If the Audi is Quattro then that also gives it an advantage (in my opinion even on dry tarmac), however if the Audi is FWD, then BMW has the advantage with their RWD.
Both cars will be substancially more economical than your Range Rover on fuel.
